Our mission
O’Block Community College exists to give an outstanding education to students who have been overlooked by everyone else.
We opened in Parkway Gardens, in Chicago’s Woodlawn neighborhood, because talent is spread evenly and opportunity is not. Our students are admitted on the strength of one answer to one question, and taught by faculty who chose to be here.
We are selective, but we select for how you think — not for what you could afford before you arrived.
Our crest and motto
The College crest shows two eyes above a pillar. The motto, Duo oculi, una veritas — “two eyes, one truth” — is a nod to the question every student answers to get in.

Visit
O’Block Community College is in Parkway Gardens, Woodlawn, on Chicago’s South Side, a short walk from the Green Line at King Drive. Campus visits are by appointment while the College is opening.
